In 2026 America will celebrate its 250th anniversary and every state has planned its own celebration. Ohio’s America 250-Ohio Commission has many events planned, including Ohio Goes to the Movies, where communities will host Ohio-centric movie events in all 88 counties from February through October 2026. 

What better way for restaurants to join the celebration than by adding a Dinner & a Movie with fun, movie-related content to connect with your community and customers.

Your restaurant can join the fun!

Spotlight Ohio-centric movies and the Ohioans involved in making them 

• Play Ohio movie music
• Create a themed drink special
• Feature Ohio movie trivia questions or fun facts from the Ohio Movie Database

Offer movie-related discounts

• Offer specials/coupons to movie-goers such as a free dessert or appetizer when they show their ticket/receipt
• Tie-in to offer contest prizes to local media such as dinner for two drawing, etc.

Get in on the celebration by:

1. Offer a themed menu of dishes named after Ohio movie stars such as:

• Paul Newman Omelet
• Katie Holmes Heavenly Brownie
• Steven Spielberg's Cincinnati Chilli
• Rob Lowe’s Loaded Nachos

2. Movie-themed wall displays of posters of movies made in Ohio or photos of famous Ohioans from the movie industry

3. Hometown connections (you can research them in the Ohio Movie Database) tie into your movie theme. For example, in Steubenville, Naples Spaghetti House ties to Dean Martin and is featured in the local Dean Martin Festival.
